Collaton St Mary has a long history and boasts a fine church, and an active local community. There is a number of regular and occasional events that take place in the village and you can find more under the Regular Events menu - for example the annual Spring Flower Festival and Fete, Amateur Dog Racing and Horticultural Show.
Adjacent to the church is the Parish Rooms building, shared by the community and forming a permanent home for Collaton St Mary Pre-School and a number of local clubs, societies and classes. The building is available for hire for a variety of different kinds of event. Opposite the Parish Rooms and Church is Collaton St Mary Primary School. The original school building was converted to a domestic dwelling in 2001, with a new school building now located on the former school field.
