Collaton St Mary Village
Collaton St Mary village lies a couple of miles West of Paignton, Devon, in the South-West of England. The village sits on either side of the main road between Paignton and Totnes and you can find it on this Google® map, or see a great aerial photo from Bing®.
Collaton St Mary has a long history and boasts a fine church, and an active local community.
Adjacent to the church is the Parish Rooms building, shared by the community and forming a permanent home for Collaton St Mary Preschool Playgroup and a number of local clubs, societies and classes. The building is available for hire for a variety of different kinds of event. Opposite the Parish Rooms and Church is Collaton St Mary Primary School. The original school building was converted to a domestic dwelling in 2001, with a new school building now located on the former school field.
Roof Fund-raising: New Roof Completed
Having provided the community of Collaton St Mary with a functional village hall for nearly 100 years, a re-roofing project was desperately needed to ensure that the building could remain open, and safely continue to provide facilities for the Playgroup, Toddler Group and various recreational, educational, health and fitness, horticultural and community programmes for ages 0 – 90 years, in addition to private receptions and parties, and still remain in the heart of the village.
Spring Festival 2010

This year's Spring Festival raised an amazing £3000. The theme for the festival was 'Illusions of Art' and attracted many visitors. The plant stall was its usual success thanks to the hard work of Jim and Sheila Bonfield. The reputation of the stall for good quality plants meant they were greeted with a queue of regular customers on Saturday morning.
Celebrating 20 years

Collaton St Mary Playgroup celebrated their 20th anniversary with a garden party. They were joined by past and present children, their families and many friends from the local community.
